It is that time of the year again when your children are home most of the time on school vacations, no pressure on them to study, and lots of time to spare. That is wonderful for those of you who have not been able to spend too much time with your children because of your own work throughout the year. But having a lot of time at hand can lead to some boredom and a lot of idling around. So, how about planning your vacations with the kids so that they can have a splendid summer and not really get on your nerves, to put it bluntly! Here are a few tips and tricks!

Tip #1.  view

The trick is to be ready for the summer break in advance and plan at least one memorable trip for the children. Once you know your budget, you could choose from among the many exciting places to see around the country or even small visits overseas. This is the easy solution, of course. Imagine if you could take the family out on a two-week trip to an exotic destination. The rest would be taken care of by the professionals at the resort or the hotel and there would be enough in-built activities there to keep the kids happily occupied.

Tip #2.  view

But if tip #1 doesn’t work out, here is a list of ideas for you to try out:-  You could attempt an adventure trip to a nearby town of interest. Or, plan an excursion; maybe, a picnic, or even a grand reunion with the extended family

Tip #3.  view

If your kids love the outdoors, you could plan a short trip to a nearby mountainous region and enjoy hiking and going on mountain trails with them.

Tip #4.  view

Closer home, you could come up with a treasure hunt with real prizes put in for good measure, for these adventure-hungry youngsters. We must realize that children have a lot more energy that we think they have and that they need to use it up.

Tip #5.  view

While at home, the trick is to keep them occupied during the day. You could set aside one hour everyday for their school assignments, after which you could bond with them by sharing their time. Afternoons could be for resting and watching films and evenings to be spent with friends.

Tip #6.  view

Kids could invite their close friends over for slumber parties and sleepovers.  Make these interesting by participating in them.

Tip #7.  view

Let them attend summer camps, pick up new hobbies, learn new skills or whatever it is that they show interest in.

Tip #8.  view

Last of all, ensure that they are happy. After all, these memories will stay with them all their lives.
