Lutein is an antioxidant that protect your retina from the macular degeneration that comes with age. Food items rich in lutein include spinach, kale, collards, broccoli, corn, citrus, brussel sprouts and egg yolk. Fat increases lutein absorption - so remember to sauté your lutein-rich food item in a little olive oil

Bilberry Extract, also referred to as blueberry, is a potent extract yielding key bioflavonoids and antioxidants called anthocyanosides, anthocyanins, ellagitannins, and proanthocyanidins. The anthocyanosides improve eye health.

Chrysanthemum flower can reduce pressure buildup in the eye. The flowers are known to purify the blood, and in Chinese Medicine are used as a cooling summer beverage. Chrysanthemum flowers are excellent for counteracting inflammation. They help improve vision and are used for a wide range of eye problems such as eye soreness, redness, lachrimation, night blindness, and eye strain. Primary chemical constituents of Chrysanthemum include stachydrine, flavonoids, betaine, choline, and vitamin B1.

Peppermint is a traditional treatment for clearing the vision, as well as a rich source of antioxidants.

Taking vitamin E daily can cut the risk of cataract by half.

Eating fish or having a diet with higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids may help reduce risk of age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Oily fish such as salmon fish, mackerel and tuna; walnuts and flaxseed oil are good foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids.
