Many of us have to fight off some amount of flab a few times in our life. And most of the time after we put on some holiday weight, we tend to try and mask it up by wearing clothes that are too large for us. Well, here are some tips for selecting clothes that help hide your flab.

The first thing to do while choosing clothes that’ll make us look thinner would be to determine our body shape. Are we "apple-shaped" or "pear-shaped"? An "apple-shaped" body would gain weight around the belly and the latter around the bottom, hips and thighs.
For the "apple-shaped" body type, try out outfits that slim your midsection but play up your legs like long length blazers that cover your stomach. A combination of slim pants, pencil skirts and heels can put focus on the legs. Maybe an unstructured top that doesn’t cling to you; with lean pants and pointed footwear can give you that tapered look.
The pear-body shape types could opt for A-line skirts that flow from the waist and team them with clingy tops - this way you attract attention to your top but take it away from the heavier bottom area. Wear dark colors on the lower half and lighter ones on the top to balance your body out.
Recommended for both body types are deep colors likes navy, deep green, dark purple and deep chocolate brown that help to make you look streamlined.
STAY away from horizontal stripes as they make everyone look wider – thought verticals can get you the lean look.
