You are allowed to carry at least two pets in first class either in kennels or cabins, where they can move about comfortably and stay within your sight. Pets are permissible for coach or business class passengers but they have to be in kennels in specialized pressurized holds beneath the cabin. Certain airlines do not accept pets at all. So, find that out – and don’t book on that airline.
Start preparing for your enjoyable trip together by visiting your veterinarian to ascertain if it’s okay for the pet to take a flight. Get a health certificate and store up on his supplies, food supplements and medicines, if required. Familiarize yourself with all the pet-related restrictions and requirements imposed by airlines, destination countries or states, and even hotels that you are likely to stay.
Get the perfect pet kennels which, at a maximum could be 23” long and 13” wide and 9” high. Remember that a pet kennel counts as a carry-on bag or personal item to be kept in the cabin. And, only one pet kennel per ticketed passenger is accepted for travel within the aircraft cabin. At the airport, you will check-in with your pet at the ticket counter; pay charges and show the pet travel fee receipt at departure.
Postscript: – do not remove your pet from its cabin during the flight. In case of a medical emergency, immediately contact the cabin or the cockpit crew for guidance. Have a memorable flight!
