It would be safe to assume that most of us have work schedules that don’t really allow us to be terribly moody most of the time. We tend to wear clothes that reflect our personality and of course, to portray a certain image of ourselves. Clothes are also suited to tailor to particular occasions and to the demands and pressures of the job. Imagine a plumber turning up in a three-piece suit and tie! Or a football coach in formal shoes! Or a young female, wearing her red floral skirt for a formal board meeting! Or a drab, boring outfit at a cocktail dinner! These things hardly happen….or let’s just say, they would ideally…not happen.

Therefore, our clothes mostly end up responding to our work requirements. But…but…given a choice, let’s say, on vacations or on weekends, we do like to indulge, don’t we? It could be a tee and pair of shorts for lounging or a short, peppy skirt to visit the flea market or attractive bright yellow attire for lunch with the neighbors. It is… in these relaxed times that one could say without hesitation, that our moods come into play. You could be in the mood to chill out at home with a book and a bucket of ice cream. In that case, would you dress up? Evidently, not!

However, even an impromptu rendezvous with your favorite gang of buddies could inspire you to be more adventurous. Finally, imagine being in a nasty mood and trying to dress it up. Tough task…I would reckon. Or having found the job of your dreams or landed yourself up a win at a big game…you would be in a celebratory mood and your attire is bound to showcase that. Won’t you agree?

Having said all that, I wonder… what would be your color for today?
