Tip #01.  view

  • Make sure you drink at least 60 fl. oz. (1.75 liters) of water everyday. Water is a natural appetite suppressant.
  • Besides, drinking water not only helps you eliminate body toxins through your sweat and urine, but also tells your brain that there is no need to store water in your body.
  • If you don't drink enough water, your body tends to retain water, which increases weight.

Tip #02.  view

  • Research has shown that carbs, protein and fat consumed during breakfast or lunch are processed differently than when eaten at dinner. Carb intake in dinner is more likely to be converted into fat. Hence, if the bulk of your Calorie intake is in breakfast or lunch, you are less likely to put on weight.
  • Eating your last meal early in the evening helps you not put on weight since the Calories you consume in the meal are burned by the time you go to bed.

Tip #03.  view

  • Eating smaller quantities more frequently will not only prevent you from overeating in your next meal, but also let your body know that there is no dearth of food.
  • When there are long gaps between meals, your brain is led to believe there is a possible shortage of food. This increases your body's tendency to convert more of the food into fat.

Tip #04.  view

  • Maintaining a balanced diet is crucial to keeping your weight in check. Our body needs all nutritional elements - carbs, proteins, fats, minerals, vitamins, etc. Artificially starving the body of any of these nutritional components only upsets our body metabolism.
  • Your diet should consist of a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of processed foods & grains like white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat.
  • Eliminate candy, sugar, soda, and all simple sugars from your diet. Remember the body converts excess sugar - particularly low glycemic index carbs - into fat and stores it in your body. This leads to weight gain.
  • Make a low-fat trail mix from raw almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried plum, and apples and have it available at all times to avoid the tempting lure of high-calorie snacks. Eat food that is rich is unsaturated fats. Also, keep dairy to a minimum because most dairy products are high in saturated fat.
  • Eat more green, chlorophyll-rich foods such as broccoli, kale, spinach, and asparagus.
  • Increase your consumption of whole and high-fiber foods. Avoid fatty foods, processed (which typically have more chemicals) or fried foods.
  • Make it a point to consume foods that are lower in salt and inorganic chemicals.
  • Research has shown that people who have a serving of soup daily lose more weight than those who eat the same amount of calories but don't consume soup. Opt for homemade soup whenever possible.
