Watching the first 2 (and only) Season 6 episodes of American Idol made me wonder as to how close the show (or at least the parts being aired) is to Leno's Jaywalking sketches.
Minneapolis was a downer, and Seattle topped it by leaps and bounds. Either the producers are inclined towards showing the sloppy acts in the hope of a William Hung phenomenon, or they are assuming that a majority of the audience wants to see the trio of judges taunt the hopeful (but mostly incompetent) talents. Not to say that I can sing better than the worst dude auditioned - it takes courage to go up there, with a 90% chance of getting ridiculed. Hopefully, next week, Memphis would bring some hopes back to what is being called as the worst start of any season on American Idol. I sure look forward to see another Elliott Yamin or Taylor Hicks this season. Maybe it is too early to say. For now I’d be happy with Simon’s smirks J
A couple of William Hungs won’t be too bad by the way - I thought the uber nerd Nick Zitzmann was close, but I could be wrong. I can bet, however, that his could be the most googled named this season so far.
On another note, hopefully they’d fix the door in Memphis. We’ll see.
