On Aug. 9, 1980, in a game between San Diego Paders and Houston Astros, Dave Winfield decided he wasn't going to be stopped after being hit by a pitch by Astros pitcher Nolan Ryan.

So Winfield took out the catcher first, then sidelined the umpire as he made his way to the mound to deliver a punch. Rushing Nolan Ryan at the mound lead to a bench-clearing brawl.

Dave Winfield was later ejected from the game.

Found it! Sitting in front of me, on my desk, is a signed Baseball by Nolan Ryan. The pitch right before the "Brawl", was fouled off into the stands, well… I ended up with it! I was only 12, now 41, at the time but pretty sure it was the pitch prior to the brawl. It took Approx 8-9 years to get this ball signed by Nolan and is one of my prized possessions! Does anyone know where or how I can get a copy of the game? Or just a few pitches prior to the fight? Watching this quick clip brings back fond memories of my dad and me at our first and only pro game…just he and I!!! Thank you, Philip Falkenheiner. Philf16mech@msn.com
