Gerald Floyd Williams is a former Major League Baseball outfielder who played for Tampa Bay Devil Rays (besides other teams). On Aug. 29, 2000, during a game between the Devil Rays and Boston Red Sox, ace pitcher Pedro Martinez hit Williams, the lead-off batter, in the hand with a pitch way inside.
It initially looked like Williams would just take his base, but halfway there, he charged the mound, managing to punch Martinez in the face before being tackled by the catcher, Jason Varitek. The benches clear and it ends in a baseball brawl.
Pedro Martinez was interviewed afterward, and said "There's no crying in baseball. If he wants to cry, let him cry."
