This video is doing the rounds on the Internet. It is being touted as water burning. It is obviously NOT that! Most likely the water mixes with the potassium hydroxide electrolyte in the cells, which while not combustible by itself will generate a lot of heat. However, the potassium hydroxide may come in contact with the Zinc shell. The chemical reaction may release hydrogen gas which can burn.
The chemicals and the materials in the Energizer batteries will have to known to figure out fully as to how or why the "water" burns.

Nicely explained SciTech...yup, there is no way that can be water burning!!
