A hot oil treatment will make your hair soft, reduce hair fall and split ends and cure an itchy scalp. Heat any natural oil like coconut, jojoba, olive, cod liver, sesame, soybean, or castor. Apply or paint on hair from root to tip and cover with a shower cap for half an hour or even overnight and then wash your hair well.
You can use real mayonnaise or natural yogurt on your hair and cover your head with a warm towel for 20 minutes before shampooing. You can also add fruit extracts, like mango, banana, avocado, cantaloupe to either the mayonnaise or yogurt to use as hair masks.
A much diluted apple cider vinegar or a citric acid rinse gives shine to your hair and cures it of dandruff as well. Adding a teaspoon of baking soda to your shampoo or conditioner gives your hair volume and cleanses your hair of impurities as well and counter balances the effect of styling gels and color rinses and such.
Another popular remedy is the use of egg conditioner wherein you beat the egg yolk, and then add 4-5 tsp of baby oil or any natural oil like olive, and add lukewarm water and beat it again into a frothy mix and massage it into the scalp and onto the hair as a conditioner after shampooing your hair and rinse well. Beat an egg white till it is foamy and add about 5 tbsp yogurts. Leave this mixture on for about 15 minutes and rinse well.
Remember all natural conditioners have a limited shelf life and that the preparations work best when freshly made.
