Tip #1. view
- Don't select a super-wide tie unless you are planning to dress up for the disco.
- Also, make sure the tie is not too narrow. This will make you look like a kid.
- Therefore, select a tie that has a nice medium width.
- The right width tie is selected after taking your own height, chest size and shoulder width. This insures the tie looks to be of the right width on you.

- A key decision, please pay attention to the length of the tie.
- Never wear a tie that ends above the belt of your trousers (or your belly-button). This will make you look ridiculous.
- Neither should you wear a tie that hangs tills your zipper.
- The correct length is to wear the belt till your belt.
- So, depending on your height and the knot you plan to have, you'll have to figure out the length you require for the tie. Purchase your neckties as per that length.

- Diagonal stripes will look nice in general
- Horizontal stripes will make you appear shorter. So, opt for horizontal stripes only if you are tall.
- Conversely, vertical stripes in general will make you appear taller. So, you may prefer to select ties with vertical stripes if you are short!

- Select solid color ties only if they are of high quality.
- Make sure the color of the tie does not clash with the color of your suit. Also, generally, it is preferable to wear a solid color tie that contrasts with your suit.
