Generally you don't mix family and work. But, occasionally you may end up in the same organization as your spouse. Keep these tips in mind while working together with your spouse.

Tip #1.  view

  • If you and your spouse work for different teams or departments in the organization requiring minimal interactions with each other, then avoid unnecessarily communicating with each other.
  • Don’t get the states of mind of your personal lives affect your business interactions.

  • Remember you end up sharing your work-related joys, stress, pressures and disappointments.
  • If you are working as peers, don’t ever become envious of your spouse’s achievements.
  • And, make sure the extra time that you now end up spending together does not extinguish the spark in your relationship as soul mates.

Beware of according special favors or partial treatment to your spouse particularly if he / she reports to you. On the flip side, make sure that you don’t slack off on your job just because your spouse happens to be the boss.

Stay professional in your conduct with your spouse within the office. Avoid any public demonstration of affection. By the same token make sure you don’t let personal arguments or family fights spill into the office environment.

And, make sure the extra time that you now end up spending together does not extinguish the spark in your relationship as soul mates

Do not get sucked into office politics. Always be aware of what you say about and do with your spouse. Avoid anything might be not only unprofessional but also lead to unhealthy relationships with other colleagues.
