Tip #1.  view

  • When choosing an exercise plan, make sure that you are comfortable with the activities involved and the timings required. If you aren’t, you will deviate sooner than later.
  • Take into account your personality type. If you are action oriented join a volleyball team or a martial arts class.
  • If the quiet beckons, take up walking, swimming, biking or such activities.
  • Better still take up 2 or 3 activities so you don’t get bored.
  • If your work schedule doesn’t permit you to exercise daily, then do know that exercise even once in a week is better than nothing at all.

Tip #2.  view

  • Invest in clothing for your activity that makes you look good. This will help you stick to your exercise plan.

Tip #3.  view

  • Athletes stay in shape because they have a retinue to motivate them and partners to share their workouts with.
  • Get your family involved, join a group, or find a partner who will follow the same plan as you; then exercise together or at least compare notes daily.
  • Nothing spurs one on as a little healthy competition.

Tip #4.  view

  • Set short term goals that are achievable.
  • Start slowly (with a short walk of 20 minutes) and build up your routine steadily.
  • Participate in local events like a 10K race without focusing on winning.

Tip #5.  view

  • Keep a record of your goals, your plans, what you are doing and how you feel physically and mentally
  • Review this regularly to stay motivated

These are all theoretical...it is impossible for several people to stay on course!! Each person has to find a way on his own to stay on his/her weight reduction or exercise plan!!
