July and August, in particular, attract a lot of tourists even though the weather is hot and humid between June and September. From August to September, there is also the possibility of rough seas on the Pacific coast due to storms.
Nevertheless, let me list out a few amazing beaches for you. On top of the list is the ``Pearl of the Pacific’’ – Acapulco, which has got a makeover in the recent past and has its infrastructure and services in place.
This is followed by Cancun with its pristine beaches and perfect seas for swimming and lazying. Then, there is Cozumel, Mexico’s original Caribbean destination, an island about 40 miles south of Cancun, which is home to scuba divers from all over the world and is famous for its diving and snorkeling activities. You could also swim with the dolphins here, you know!
Las Bahias de Huatulco – The nine Bays of Huatulco, dotted with 36 stunning beaches with their soft sands and crystal clear blue waters are in Mexico’s southern state of Oaxaca, and should be a definite part of your Mexico beach itinerary.
Then, there is Tulum, on the Caribbean coast with its pretty beaches and its picturesque Mayan ruins, a white sandy cove with palm shades and azure sea to swim in.
You could also try the Bahia Concepcion – Conception Bay, Baja California, which lies about 10-50 kms south of Mulege, and has several scenic beaches, including Playa Requeson, Playa Buenaventura and Playa Coyote. The bay is on the coast of the Sea of Cortez, which is a protected marine sanctuary.
There are endless other beaches that one can name. But surely, it’s a case of an `embarrassment of riches.’ There are just too many of them to choose from. I’ll leave the decision to you.
