Researchers have repeatedly tried to trace a correlation between the two but no clear result emerges from these studies. So many factors affect one’s mood. Add to that, the fact that we spend most of our time indoors and the effect of weather on an urbanite’s mood is very difficult to trace. Or is it?
Why do we love going for vacations to places that contrast with the climate we live in? If we like the sea and are energized by seeing it, then why can’t a video of it work as well in relaxing us?
Maybe the breeze, the salt in the humid air all contribute to the feeling we have. We don’t all like the same kind of ocean; some of us like the freezing waters and others prefer the sunny beaches.
The weather certainly contributes to a kind of lifestyle and that certainly affects our moods. So does this question have any answers? Not yet in the scientific community.
But we sure do know the answer for ourselves, don’t we?
Identify the weather you like best and go out more to enjoy it. When you are down in the dumps because of the weather you do NOT like, watch all those movies and play all those songs that speak to you of a happier weather.
Play those imagination games and picture yourself in the weather you want to be in. Let me know if your spirits do not get uplifted.
