This is unbelievable footage...of a couple of African lions trying to attack and kill an adult hippopotamus! Rare video surely! (thanks to the photographer who captured this activity in the wild - and Jeremy Kent, the driver of hte photographer's jeep).
i am not sure if the lions were eventually able to make a meal of the hippo. That would have been a feast. They seemed to have succeeded in maiming the hippo. But, for the refuge the hippo took in the small pond of water, i'm sure, it would have foudn it more difficult to escape.
You never know what surprise the African jungles have in store for you. Proves how exciting wildlife photography can be!!
