Ever wonder what happens to all the huge Lord Ganesha - The Elephant God - idols after "visarjan" in Bombay. Of course, the idols are immersed in the Arabian Sea with much fanfare and festivity after the customary procession.
We all assume that these idols just break down and disintegrate in the open sea, right? Nope, not true. This is what happens to the idols! Clearly this is no way to treat or show reverence to one of the greatest gods in the Hindu pantheon (not to mention the degradation caused to the environment).
