It announces you even before you are heard or seen in company. It makes a powerful statement about you and plays havoc with those love pheromones. Yet, when buying a perfume so little thought is given to the effect it has on others compared to the effect it has on the pocket.
Cheap perfumes can be so easily bought. I have bought a number of them because I wanted to try them and they were not too hard on the pocket. If I had only saved the money I could have bought a good perfume that would have lasted me longer and have caused less damage.
“Damage?” you ask. Yes. You see, perfumes are chemicals. I can hear you say, “So?” Well, they react when exposed to certain accessories. My chunky chains and pearl earrings reacted by changing color and then caused my skin against which they rested to turn pink and red with allergy.
Would I learn when this happened? Would I? Of course not! Another inexpensive perfume found its way into my hands and then proceeded to evaporate faster than ammonia. Not only did it not make my skin fragrant for long, it also did not last in its container for long despite me being careful about closing it airtight shut.
Well, did I now learn? No! There I went buying another cheap ‘but good’ perfume. The problem with cheap perfumes is that they don’t last very long. To overcome this I used to spray on more but without results. Unfortunately, the scent would overpower someone who hated and linger in the atmosphere till they puked. This didn’t win me many favors.
Now, I invest in good perfumes that suit me, regardless of the cost and my impression happily lasts in the air.
