Here's what would have happened if buildings in Mumbai had been targetted instead of New York:
- There would have been only three planes hijacked because one of the flights would have been cancelled due to some unavoidable circumstances.
- The hijackers on the plane no. 2 would have got up for hijacking as per their planned schedule, say 9:00 a.m. sharp, only to realise that the flight is delayed and they are still at the Mumbai airport only.
- Of the two successful hijackings, one of the planes would have got hit by a stone from a slum kid for being in the firing range by flying slow and would have crashed in to the sea. To add to the woes a lot of passengers would have missed the flight for it took off on time.
- The fourth plane with mainly hijackers on board, as we said earlier that passengers would have missed the flight for taking off on time, would have successfully managed to hit the Express Towers around 9:30 a.m. Again no one except the hijackers would have lost their lives.
