The smoky look is in this year and the look for this season is to define your eyes in a softly sexy, romantic way. So the blatant colors like black are out. Try out a dark gray shade instead when choosing your eyeliner.
A lighter gray shade of shadow will contrast well with the darker liner to give you a smoldering, romantic look. Smudging the shadow and the liner a bit will work wonders as it will take away the hard edge.
Purple shades are hot too, and you can also choose to use a shade like plum or eggplant as your shadow on the lid. A lighter shade under the eyebrow smudged slightly will highlight your eyes beautifully.
Soft gold base and deep purple eye shadow will also contrast well. A gray liner can top up that smoky effect. If you are adventurous, you could use the darker eye shadow as your eyeliner. While you can also opt for browns and greens, blue shades can look like dark circles.
Remember that a mineral makeup foundation goes a long way in concealing those bags under your eyes and highlighting the colors on your lids. The more the base the better the darker shades blend, so it is important that one begins with a light shade as close to your skin types as possible and use a few middle tones to build up to the darker shade. Also highlight powder between the corners of the eyes makes them look brighter.
Eyeliner on and inside the lower lash line will make your eyes look smokier. If your eyes are small line the bottom eyelid only about halfway. Add as much mascara as you like to add to the effect.
