Gray hairs need not mean the onset of despair. They can be fun. If you do happen to be among those few who have silver strands mixing with your browns then consider yourself blessed with natural highlights. If not, then there is more than one way to show off your grays.
Mono colors are out of style. And it can take ages to get the proper effect with two tones. But the grays can lighten your load and how. If you want to color your hair, you need to choose a color that suits you and apply and voila you have color and highlights at one go. The color lightens automatically on the gray hairs and the effect is so easy to achieve.
If you want your grays to blend in, then you should choose a semi permanent color that is the either the exact shade of your hair or a shade lighter. If your grays are not too large in number (around 15%), instead of coloring your hair you could just highlight your grays. Just remember that highlighting is not for everyone. Those with silver hair can look older if they merely highlight their grays as the highlighted strands look yellowed and washed out. In this case, using a light brown or dark blonde tint before highlighting the grays works magic. You can also include a few low lights along with the highlights to give your hair more contrast.
One must remember that it is not just hair that grays. Our skin tone too lightens with age. So as the years pass the lighter shades are what we must opt for instead of the darker ones. Matching the hair color to the skin tone makes one look attractive and well maintained at any age.
