All you guys from B'bay it is a must read. If not from B'bay then too it is a loads of fun (the reason why I am publishing this as Jokes).

The following is a list of the slangs used as a part of the language normally spoken in Bombay, Bhindi. Its origin is unknown, but, its been spoken since ever and has been (and shall always be) influenced by the influx of the infinite people into Bombay each day to make a little more of their "char din kee zindagi". Bhindi stands for "Bombay Hindi". It is the foster mother tongue for every person who lives here.

A great thing about this language is that it is spoken universally throughout Bombay. For uppities or the college crowd it's referred to as Binglish (for "Bombay English"). It is, however, the same!

This list is perpetually incomplete since the evolution of this language can never possibly seize. Comments and additions for this list would be more than welcome.

Chava / Chavi:-

Actual meaning of a chava is a lion's cub. However, in Bhindi it would mean a Boyfriend/GirlFriend (normally the one thats steady). Chava, is also used to describe a good looking chap or the normal stud in the locality. No, Chavi would still mean the steady one.
