Log in/Sign up Using Your Facebook Credentials!

We’re back with more updates at our end. A new build was deployed last night which has several notable features, the biggest of them being the capability to log in using your facebook credentials. We also import your profile from Facebook. We are really excited about this feature. If the users log in via Facebook, they are just like a regular Cylive user - they can create their own content, rate content, comment on content and profiles…etc!

Here is the link to log-in using Facebook

Another addition is Email Subscription to Feedburner powered Cylive Updates. Simply enter your email, and leave the rest to Feedburner. You will receive an email every time content changes on Cylive.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Flickr Import is here!

The latest build (4/22) has support for flickr photoset imports. Just click ‘Import from Flickr’ when creating the photo album, and leave the rest to Cylive. Once you permit Cylive to access your photos (do not worry - we will walk you through these steps!), Cylive will pull all the photosets, and the photos which are not in a photoset for you to import. One click and your Flickr Photos are now in Cylive. We copy photos, so even if you happen to delete the photos from Flickr, your copy at Cylive will be unaffected.

We have also added SnapShots service on the web snippets. When you hover on ‘go to current page’, you can see a SnapShots rendered thumbnail of the page that is bookmarked. It is a great service (like addThis!) and we’d recommend it to anyone who has similar requirements on their site.

Happy Cyliving, and stay tuned for Yahoo Photos Import!

New: MP3 Support

Now cylive supports uploading MP3 audio as a content type, and it uses flash player for playback. Check out this organizer using audio - Burger King 911 Call.  Tonight we will be adding a tour to the site, helping our users get more information on how to use Cylive as a platform for all their digital content needs!

Finally, you can create, structure, organize, share and publish any content using a single site!

Introducing Content Categorization

The new build supports categorization of published content. The contributer can optionally pick the most approrpriate content category while creating the content, however, the category is mandatory when publishing the content. This helps the users and vistors locate information quickly and accurately.

To check out the categories, click here.

With the kind of growth (pageviews, unique visits and pageviews per visit) we’ve seen over the past few weeks, content categorization helps us manage the growing content in an efficient way, and providing the users a much friendly experience when searching for published content.

We have also increased the number of related content links to 10 for a wider content match.

Watch out for more updates and features coming soon!

We’d like to thank all our users who have contributed a large amount of content, helping us grow as well as helping themselves stay organized with all the heterogenous digital content!

New and Improved Search!

With the new build, we have improved upon our search functionality - the new search is lucene based (vs. MySQL Full Text earlier). This build also features some changes to the look and feel of the home page, as well as post login (My Cylive and My Content) sections. We look forward to more enhancements down the road, and ensuring best user experience.

Sharing by email

This new functionality rocks! you can now share your content with people who you know but are still not a member of Cylive. Once they follow the links sent on the email and view your content, they have an option to signup. Upon signup they are automatically marked as your connection and you become theirs. Cool huh?

The next step is to allow this “unregistered yet” user of Cylive to invite his own set of friends and share the content he or she is looking at. This will facilitate viral growth of Cylive and get the word about the services offered to everyone.

Way to go development team!
